You can report any retailer or business to this Forum if you suspect them to be doing the wrong thing!

Well, I believe the Didjshop to be particularly disreputable dealers who overpromote to the point of absurdity. Ford Pintos at Rolls Royce pricing.

10-4 on that! I used to have them listed on my forum favorites, but after having repeated posts edited when all I was doing was giving links to folks to either find information or check out something they didn't even sell. sheesh!

I bought from here but I don't know should I avoid to buy here anymore:
http://www.thomann.de/fi/thomann_didger ... 50cm_n.htm
I have such a didgeridoo and I think this is good first one to buy when you start playing. There's also cheaper ones but I took this one which pays 125 euros which 216.60 AUD. The price and quality are quite good but someone would say this is bullshit. On that shop there's no mentioning about aboriginals or authentic aboriginal intrument. What do you think about this? Does it defame your culture and didgeridoo tradition?

I'd say that as long as the retailer doesn't lie on the origin of the didjs they sell, and as long as the price is worth the instrument, there's no real problem.
There's a problem when the retailer starts to say it's a genuine Aboriginal instrument when it is not, or that all the money helps an Aboriginal community when it doesn't, or when the paintings on the didj try to imitate Aboriginal paintings in order to sell more, or when it's sold as eucalyptus wood when it's only teck, etc...
On Thomann's website, I see no mention of Aboriginal participation to the creation of the instrument, so it is pretty clear that it is NOT a genuine instrument... this is not evilish to my mind. You know what you're buying.

It's all up to you !
If you want to play occidental style, you would not have to buy genuine instrument... and in fact, you would not have to buy termite hollowed stick either !
There are some very good split-didjes locally crafted in Europe and some other weirder instruments in strange materials too (glass, PVC, clay !).
If you want to try to play trad' then its far better to play on a real Yidaki/Mago.
Two different (but not opposed) worlds !
EDIT > BTW, this is only my opinion on the subject... others may have different views of course ! Apparently, some (few) Aboriginal people do not even accept that any Balanda pull the didjeridu as they consider that this instrument belongs exclusively to them.
