From Austrade:

Quote:
Following “Dreaming Their Way” at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the opening of
the Musée du Quai Branly in Paris and the increased interest in Australian Aboriginal art among
American art collectors, the Australian Trade Commission and the Northern Territory Government
are seeking to raise the profile and grow the market for Australian Aboriginal art in the Americas.
Thus we have put together a subsidized mission and are currently seeking delegates who are
interested in buying and exhibiting Australian Aboriginal art, e.g. gallery owners and directors,
collectors, interior designers, curators etc.

See attachment for further details, it is too late now for this year but perhaps next year? This is of relevance only to those in the USA, contact Joel Newman at Austrade to express your interest. Joel is a great person to work with, we did something together in 2005 and everything went totally smoothly!

Guan

Hey Guan,

That's a flyer for the recent North American trip, but Austrade has also done this with groups from Europe as well. There's a photo in there of Djambawa and Napuwarri Marawili with what an Austrian/German group a few years ago, and there's also been a Scandinavian group. There are at least a few Austrade offices around the world, so anybody interested should just search out the nearest office and express an interest.

Keep in mind this is really intended for owners or representatives of major galleries and museums or major collectors. You're meant to have big money and the intention to put a lot of money into promoting Australian art overseas to go on these trips.
