Manayingkarirra (Kunibidji for Maningrida) was initially set up in the 1940s as a trading post/ration depot, at a time when Aboriginal people of the area were still semi-nomadic hunter-gatherers. In the late 1950s Manayingkarirra became a permanent settlement administered by the Welfare Department and today it is one of the largest and most vibrant communities in Arnhem Land.
This section of the Forum takes its name from Arnhem Land's first trading post. Here, you can place your wanted advertisements at absolutely no cost. If you have trouble looking for a particular item, let us know about it here and more likely than not iDIDJ Australia will be able to find it for you if we don't already have it. Or other subscribers might have the exact item you are looking for and might be willing to trade or sell it to you.
You can list anything here that is directly or remotely related to the didgeridoo or to Top End Indigenous culture. Looking for clapsticks? Spears and spearthrowers? Ochres? Bush foods or medicines? Out-of-print books? CDs? Special didgeridoos? Paintings by certain artists...?
Please do not list items for sale here. Dedicated online auction sites are best for that sort of thing.
Have fun and happy collecting!
