Hi dijdrummerhill First things first!!! welcome to the forum its always good to have new members who share the same interests as us here. You will find a wealth of information within the "pages" of the forum and many willing to share their knowledge and experiences. As for your instruments protection, there has been a bit of a discussion recently about the subject of protecting artwork particulary on "special" instruments, click on the link here, this will direct you to it, I think you will find it useful an-idea-the-old-with-the-new-t938.htmlBest wishes and hope you have a good time here Paul

Hi dijdrummerhill,
Let me join the others in welcoming you on board. You are on the best place there is in regards to traditional/authentic didgeridoos.
With the artist Yukkula you are looking up, I am afraid that not many people might have heard about him before. Frankly speaking - and sorry if this would come across too direct or dissappointing-, a quick look on the website you referred to shows that there might not be much of a story to be uncovered about this instrument. There are tons of websites out there selling similar artwork which do not really seem to be authentic (not in the way most of the people talk on this forum at least!)..
I hope you will find this forum useful
Cheers
Mahir

Hi there and welcome aboard. The website you pointed out does not seem to be working 100% and there are no contact details for the artist although in the biography it says that the artist can be reached through any of the contact details supplied on the website... but there are none So maybe wait and see if in future updates, contact details for Susan Lawson can be found on the website. Otherwise do a whitepages.com.au search for Susan Lawson knowing she is in Barcaldine in Queensland. You might be able to find her address and phone number that way. The other thing is that the didgeridoo in your picture does not look like it has been painted in ochre but in acrylic, you wouldn't need to worry about protecting acrylic as it is a lot more durable than ochres and don't really need to be sealed. Good luck! Guan

Hi again It does look like acrylic to me now we have a closer look but one test you can do is to wet the tip of your finger and dab it(don't rub it just in case) onto some of the white artwork. If the white starts to go transparent then it is ochre(it will return to its white state once dry) if it stays white then either it is acrylic or it has ben sealed already so thats solved your problem anyway Paul
