Hi Guan

How old exactly????? Well I will be 54 in October gave up my 40 a day habit 26 years ago now, no anti smoking aids then!!! cold turkey can be done. DON'T try all the tricks like 1 every hour or stuff like that, it won't work. Just stop! Now I am fitter that ever, don't own a car (can drive tho!) cycle eveywhere, have done racing cycling and mounain biking, it's the best thng I have done in my life. A bit of fear may help you to give up. Think of this... dying because of smoking???? what would you give not to be in that situation???? ANYTHING!! BUT IT WILL BE TOO LATE!!!Don't become a smoking statistic, life is precious, hang on to it

best of luck

Paul

Hi Peter and Paul
I support you in trying to convince Guan to quit smoking. Not that I care about him Smile but if he is gone, who is gonna provide us with wonderful instruments Smile,

Guan, (and all the others!), give up smoking!

That's right !! In fact I've got my eye on one of those sticks, so am eagerly awaiting Guan's return from up North. I really shouldn't be buying any more as I feel I have enough - especially when I'm not really a player (but I just couldn't resist). The love of my life can't believe it of course (she can't stand the noise...)

oh well,
: )

I'd be interested in hearing which lovely stick has captured your heart Peter! Nothing like 'forbidden love' eh?

It's that F# that is ex Saltwater Band material - great sound and Guan's description has piqued my interest. It sounds great on Youtube.....Another one to my liking is also an F - the Gondarra instrument - a little dearer but it's been used in ceremony. Actually didn't notice that one before - I didn't realize Guan had 4 pages of sticks in that section. Of course I'm interested in ex ceremonial sticks because of my interest in trad sound - this is a stick that must have all the right qualities for playing trad fashion but alas I can't afford both so some other lucky person will get that one.....

Both nice looking sticks. I'm very fond of the skinny, unassuming type of instrument and coupled with the pedigree of these two I can understand your interest. One can always strike a deal with Guan Laughing so start the negotiations and get both - 2 for 1 for years of friendship!

There is definitely something special about that Saltwater Band F#. Like Kyle, I have an affinity for the rather unassuming sticks- wolves in sheep's clothing Smile

I think Guan should bend a bit given the years of friendship between you two, Peter Smile

Heh, there's no guarantees in this - given time differences etc, I may not have got my dibs in first - it could be anybody's at this stage. And we've got to remember that Guan is running a business here - he's gotta keep his head above water and I know these sticks are cheap - he can't be making much money on them and what he does helps support makers etc via the advocacy of iDidj - if anything we should be paying him more for all the hard work he puts in our behalf !! Besides, Guan has always been too generous with me - far more than is warranted. I owe that man in many ways.

Nope, that's not me - I'm interested in another.

Yeah you gotta be quick to get the good stuff - problem is, I'm always slow as I only have internet access via my work - so just a small window each day.

Don't feel sorry for me though 'cos I've got other sticks. Can't be too greedy now.....
