I thought I'd record myself on a yidaki today just to see how I sound when recorded. Plus Dan asked me on YouTube to play some stuff. Anyway, don't expect fire-crackers, my breathing is too stuffed for that. I found myself trying to play a whole song with only 1 breath. Doesn't work. Gotta give up those cigs.

Way Guan,

tell me that's a joke - surely not - you have slipped my friend. Is that really you playing ?? And if you are truly smoking again then I'm on my way to Melbourne to deal with you. This is not the playing I expect from you mate. You have been such an inspiration to me and it's always been a pleasure listening to you play - I can't believe you've let your technique slip - what would yolngu say !!!

I'll speak with you more about this privately !!

respectfully, nhungu Bita.

Shucks, I gotta practice more!

I'll give up the smokes too, I promise. Maybe get some acupuncture which I've heard helps with quitting. Just gotta find the time to do it...

I don't mind watching footie, but playing it?! At my age? I remember in Korea last year playing a friendly soccer match with our new-found Mexican and Bulgarian mates. Geez, that really reeaally hurt! It felt like I had been stabbed in the chest...

I'm going cold turkey now... 1st September is a good time, start of the month Laughing

Well maybe not firecrackers, but who of the tradheads in this forum can deliver that? I wish I could play with that kind of tong technique or proper matta. Really hoop to hear more my friend.

..............Oh maybe it's possible to pickup your bamboo when the sig. urge enters the body and mind. Let's say if you smoked 10 sig. a day, then this will gives you in total 50 minutes practise during the day(1 sig. is about 5min). So in no time you got that rock and roll going and your longs cleaned up mate! By the way quitting is not the problem, firing one up is!!!
