I really don't mean to post about EVERY clip the Mulka Project puts up, but I think this one again is particularly cool, and for fans of traditional music and yidaki, it does include a previously unreleased song from 1952, of the legendary 'Slippery' Binydjarrpuma Munyarryun along with his young (at the time) nephew Mathulu, father of people like Bandamul, Malalakpuy, Mirrwatnga and Banul Munyarryun, names that might be familiar to yidaki fans as Dhalinybuy-based yidaki makers. Bandamul and Malalakpuy are the stars of the film, and Malalakpuy and Banul along with Tom Murray (Dhakiyarr vs. the King) directed. The yidaki player in the old song is Dhambudjawa Burarrwanga, who many here say was one of THE hot players of the time, along with Djinyini Gondarra and Mithili Wanambi (father of the Mulka Project's director Wukun Wanambi).
Oh - Bibibak Mununggurr plays yidaki on the newly recorded song and dance bits.
