Has anyone seen the 3D film Avatar yet? Just seen it today and it is absolutely stunning it is a MUST see. It is a feat of technical brilliance! it must have given the programmers many sleepless nights to get the graphics as perfect as they are. I know how many pages of code is required just to create a simple character let alone make it move! this is sheer genius. If you haven't seen it just go! Guaranteed satisfaction

I've seen it 3 times, twice in 3D and once without 3D! :D :D :D :D

Great movie, out-of-this-world effects and a definitely must-see. The only complaint I have is that there were technical glitches each time I watched it in 3D. The first time the 3D was not quite right, I kept taking off my 3D glasses to check if it was my glasses or the screen or the projector that wasn't working exactly right. The 2nd time the cinema lights were kept on for a few minutes during the actual screening of the movie, plus the curtains weren't drawn all the way back. I was about to jump up and yell out "Lights off!!!!!" but luckily I didn't...

Great movie though, it has set a new benchmark as to the future of movie making.

Seen it too, in 3D... and WOW ! Best movie experience ever !
It really is a turn in cinema history !
I love the theme above all.
Only the musics bored me (Titanic-like melodramatic horrible stuff... thought we'd be in for more tribal Na'Vi music but no)

By the way... do you know how the Na'Vis play the Didjeridu ?

A couple of friends(including Guan) praised highly on the movie and I decided to see it as well. It indeed is a very good , surely a must-see

Definitely a landmark film. Yes, the plot is shamefully simple. Yes, the music is sappy and unimaginative. Yes, the Na'vi are a race of sexy blue cat aliens. All that aside, it is an important, awe-inspiring film.

While I think the authors tone and agenda are slightly questionable, he provokes some interesting thoughts, some negative, some positive.

Interesting insights Simon, thanks for the link.

I guess that's how Hollywood operates, which is to appeal to the masses and return a good profit to investors, the masses being mainstream male-dominated white society which includes most but not all of us here. I go to the movies purely for entertainment and to escape rather than for critical analysis! So I'm a bit of a bird brain when it comes to evaluating movies, I like lots of special effects, lots of action, a good story line is a bonus.
