Good question! This forum is really about the discussion and appreciation of the traditional Aboriginal didgeridoo and 'Top End' Indigenous cultures... from Numbulwar and close-by communities in the Gulf of Carpentaria in the east, to Port Keats and the NW Northern Territory region in the west. There are not many places on the internet where you can find useful information on these topics so iDIDJ Australia decided to set one up ourselves.

Also, we would like the tone of this forum to be a bit less chatty than most because it would be great if this were a place where serious issues can be discussed and actioned. By all means be fun, friendly and welcoming to others... but remember this is not a social networking site nor a popularity contest!

Another way this forum will differ from all other didgeridoo-related ones will be the contributions made by organisations from a wide range of sectors and individuals with expertise in a wide range of fields. Expect not only didgeridoo enthusiasts but also government agencies and bodies, academics, promotions companies, arts organisations and Indigenous Australians. We hope this will be a useful forum for everyone who cares about the future of the didgeridoo and its place in global consumer culture as well as in traditional Aboriginal society.

Maxims for this forum...
If not you, who? If not now, when?

When injustice becomes law, activism becomes duty.

Enjoy and welcome to the iDIDJ Australia Didgeridoo Cultural Hub Forum!

Guan

Dear Guan,

Bussy as ever, those three months have done you good my friend. I realy hope this will be a venue of respect and wisdom. Where we can learn, get serious but also laugh and make friends.

But what I serious like to see and hope for is that Yolngu, old and young also will participate on this new portal!

If the conversation turns to football, so be it! Would be good to converse with Winiwini about anything at all :)

Hello Andy Watjuku, how wonderful, I am really looking forward to seeing your videos on YouTube. I'm delighted to have a monster yidaki you made, your father has an excellent reputation for yidaki crafting and you have made yidaki from working alongside your cousin Djalu, please could you tell us your most memorable experience of hunting for yidaki?
Kindest regards,

Hello Andy. I also have a great yidaki that you made that was painted by Boliny Wanambe. It is my favorite yidaki and I look forward to speaking with you through this forum. Welcome.
