This series is interesting, all the pics except the last one were taken in July 1966 during the National Aborigines' Day celebrations in Hyde Park, Sydney, NSW. It seems women were not discouraged to play didgeridoo then. The Aboriginal men seem to be from Arnhem Land, must get someone to identify them!
The last pic is from 1962 National Aborigines Day, 1962, at Martin Place in Sydney, NSW, showcasing "Joe Timbrey's Band" with a woman didgeridoo player! Might be interesting material for researchers looking at the supposed taboo of women playing didgeridoo.
